SotSC's approach is to enhance areas and encourage all sorts of exploration. I do not want to only add stuff via items. For example, there is also an investigation quest in the city of Baldur's Gate where you'll need to click such info regions in order to gather clues. Hope that piece of information will help you Smile And remember - you do not have to see everything in just one run Smile

Have fun! Cheers! Smile
I have a few issues I need help with. Just to let you know I am in Chapter 5, still in BG but I will be heading south to finish some more quests.

1/. How do you use the rings for finding the circles? How do you get the ring to show you the sircles? I can't get it to do anything, even though I have actually guessed where one of the portals is
It's in the Drizzt area, on the island in the lake where the poor saps are trying out fish farmiing
I've walked round this are, clicked on it furiously and searched with the cursor and the reveal cheat key, but no joy Sad

2/. Pretty, pretty please can you give me a very mild general hint about how to activate the shards.

3/. I spotted a post about a basalisk dungeon earlier in the thread. Can I have a hint about what and/or where this is?

4/. I need a little help to find ...
the entrance off the sewers mentioned in the note on a desk the Iron Throne top floor - to do with Bhaal artifacts (and presumably the missing halfling)

You need to have the ring on (you = your main character, which whom the ring is attuned). Only then the portals show up and if you take of this ring, the portals will deactivate. And yep, you have one of the circles right, you just need to find the other three, but they should be easier!

Once you have all 4 strange shards, they will become one item and then you'll be able to activate them from the quick slot - just as if you were to use a wand to cast a spell.

You can find in on the same area as Mutamin's garden. There's an entrance in one of the rocks on the lower half of that map.

Enter the sewers by grate between the Mermaid and the Temple of Ilmater and then, once you're down, go left and you'll see an entrance to a small new area.
Thanks muchly for such helpful replies. I am now rampaging merrily across all of the Sword Coast south of the Gate, leaving a trail of chaos in my wake ); and having a really good time
Enjoy your stay at the Sword Coast! Oh, and remember I also added a few nice quests in Baldur's Gate!

The biggest one is the Cult of the Dragon quest, but there's also one with the pirate ship. You may start it on one of the platforms in BG's docks Smile
I've finished the
Dragon Cult base in the Shipwreck Coast area, and enjoyed it a great deal. I like to have a little problem slving rather than all just hack and slash

As regards the other quest you mentioned
I've found all the bits and reassembled the captain in his cabin, and got the request to find his sons. I think one of them was the "human remains" I found on the pirate ship, although I get no response if I show them to the captain. I searched the "pirate treaure" in the seawatch/lighthouse area again, but found nothing. I alos searched the bandit camp again with no joy. Any c;ues to where the other pirate, and the bandit are?
I'm glad you're having fun! And by problem-solving, I guess you mean how to get past the "guardian" Smile

As for the remains: you need 3 of those. It's been a while, but I THINK you may find them:
in a shipwreck; in a pirate cave in Ulgoth's Beard - the one you may get to through the lighthouse; and in a cave near the Mountain Cemetry (you may get to that area through the Gnoll Stronghold area, there is a new travel region in the lower-left corner of the map).
I seem to be having some problems with the quests in the Friendly Arm inn. I've accepted the quest from Bentley, but can't find how to enter the basement. I saw in another thread that there's a trapdoor in the kitchen, but nothing is appearing.
Also, there's a character outside the inn who asks you to speak to him in his house: the house is marked on the map, but I can't find any way to enter it.
It looks like you:
a) have not started a new game, thus you are not on the updated versions of these maps,
b) installed another mod that overrides these areas thus scripts and dialogues work normally, but the areas don't.
Got a quick question for you  - if I had a save file, from the game, with mods installed but I had to uinstall everything (saves are in the cloud) - can I just reinstall the game with mods, and saves will work properly, or would I have start the new game, to use this mod (and others)?
You will need to start a new game because many references will be messed up. That's mostly how modding on Infinity Engine looks like... Once you reinstall everything and make a new setup, much mod-added stuff will be kinda messed up.
Ohhh that's a bummer. :c Welp, I guess I will have to start a new story then.
Recently I've fight against the cult of the dragon, but I only found 15 symbols instead 16.

Is there any symbol in other location?
I presume you missed the hole in ground, there is rope there that can take you into the tunnels below.
