I presume it's to prevent abusive or unkind abuse of power -- probably the site owners do not want people to change nicknames/comments of the buyers when some conflict arises, or something like that.
Yes, Blacksad is available in different languages, including my mother tongue. I do like Weekly, too, thus the avatar, but I liked weasels even before I found out about Blacksad and Weekly.
