I think it's rather okay. I believe there is a kind of jump here. I mean there is the first Underdark talk, then a small comment ("It's hard to get used to the lightless world of the Underdark. After seeing hundreds of sunsets and sunrises, we have to face endless darkness."), but even if did not happen, you shouldn't worry. Just make a separate save and continue.
Then talks return after the Underdark or even a bit later. There is no kidnapping as in other romances, something else happens after Bodhi is dead. And after that, there will be another romantic event. So I think you can just continue playing. Original romances also kinda have this "break" and they become a bit slower. Well, they do have the whole Bodhi things, but something will be there, after a certain matter is solved. And it's then when the romance turns 2
