I'm sorry to return so soon, but I found out that what I was experiencing was actually two separate issues. I hope you don't mind me continuing the conversation here, as what is happening this time isn't related to the kits, but a few of the area mods. This is with the latest versions of the mods, as I did check them for updates yesterday before I reinstalled the game and started playing.
I went back to the forest in Terror of the Skineater and found that if my character that was created in slot one dies there, it treats it as the party being killed. However, the character could still be killed like normal in places such as Kuldahar or the Vale of Shadows. I did some reinstalling to test things out separately, and found the same thing occurs at the Below & Below Inn. I also tested the Grove of Chaos, but things worked fine there. I didn't check anything else, just the areas that were easily accessed at the beginning of chapter one.
I feel bad that I keep coming to you with bug reports, but I do hope they are helpful. I really hope that this will be the last one for a while. Thank you again for bearing with me and for all of your help!

Hey! I actually know about these, and all my IWD mods had that bug, but I am slowly getting rid of the problem as I update next mods. You need to excuse me, but each IWD area required a certain flag, which allows Player 1 to die. Considering the fact that each of my IWD mods includes areas (with The War of Bloom and Rot having 20 of them) it's not something I can handle for all my mods at once. It is being worked on, but just remember to keep your player 1 alive. Some of my quest mods have that bug fixed already; more are to come.
EDIT:
To cheer you up I quickly got rid of the bug from the Skineater and B&B, I need to check which still require the fix.

Thanks, I am glad it was something that you were already aware of! I will just have to treat it like playing Baldur's Gate for now, and be extra careful.
I will say though, I think I need to to stop playing games when I am overly tired. There was a part in the Terror of the Skineater that got me good lol. The same thing happened to me in the old GameCube days while playing Eternal Darkness. I guess I haven't learned my lesson!
Heading back to play a bit more, take care and thanks again!
Oh, I just saw your edit, thank you much! I don't mind finding bugs, just feel like a pain putting more work on your plate is all, since you mod for fun
Well, those things had to be fixed at some point. Heh.
Fixed the same thing for The Rediscovery of Kuldahar now, so the new Kuldahar sub-areas should also work fine now. But that's the last for today. Cheers!

Ah, I'm surprised that one didn't cross my mind, probably because I'm not usually in combat there. Thanks again, I hope the rest of your day goes well!
