Prof ErrataHere my mods now for you
#1
Dear Lava, I hope you are well and that you continue to create with your habitual inspiration some well made mods as usual for the IE games (and I wonder how you find the time in order to type them, and above all the ideas you have in mind…). Note that I have "bought you a coffee" yesterday, in order to thank you for all the things you have created until now for the IE gamers, and I’ve noted that my alias doesn’t appear here ("…Continuez !"), I think it would be nice that this detail would be corrected at your attention; and besides, I hope that your country (Poland, if I remember) will be converedt to the euro in a very near future like France, the conversion with the zloty isn’t great, having bought recently model kits (Arma Hobby) and paints (Hataka) via mail, these 2 companies being Polish. Note that if I was the director of BG4 (the next RPG about the BG licence) I would hire you without hesitation, you are a one-man studio indeed… And I wonder by the way why you haven’t created some mods for BG3, being a most recent game (I didn’t play it yet).
I have now to say to you that I am a modder too about the IE games, having created over the years - not alone I specify - 9 mods altogether (5 for BG2EE, 2 for BG2EE/IWDEE, 1 for IWDEE, 1 for BGEE), mainly merchant, and I wish to present them now :
- Kaya V0.9.2 (FR/EN - 2,41 Mo - BG2EE/IWDEE) : my first mod, a merchant who sells all the arcane and protection (green) scrolls, and 20 powerful items for mages (including 8 robes), the English translation is OK, having been supervised by an American modder (Lauriel).
- Emerson V0.9.9.5 (FR - 2,52 Mo - BG2EE/IWDEE) : my second mod, a merchant who sells 64 powerful items (for example a cloak which gives +7 in CHA, buy it and give it to a paladin and see its effects in bargaining by yourself…), and weapons, mainly bludgeoning. The last 3 items I’ve added in this mod - wands for spell users - are problematic until now.
- Aramyr V0.9A (FR - 1,96 Mo - BG2EE) : a merchant who sells 35 missile weapons and ammo.
- Erasmo V0.6a (FR - 1,94 Mo - BG2EE) : a merchant who sells 25 powerful armor, helms and shields.
- Guido V0.3 (FR - 1,93 Mo - BG2EE) : a merchant who sells 33 powerful blades weapons. A touch of humour here…
- Pym V1.2 (FR/EN - 1,87 Mo - BG2EE) : a merchant who sells and buy precious stones. A little mod indeed.
Note that in BG2EE all these merchants are located n the Adventurers Mart for convenience.
- Artemus V0.9.4 (FR - 2,57 Mo - BG2EE) : perhaps the mod I’m most proud of, a smith who upgrade 51 items and weapons which aren’t included in 4 well known mods (Item Upgrade/Ruad/Rolles/Nanstein); for example I’ve created items for the NPC who don’t have any (Minsc has an armor and a 2-hand sword, Aerie a ring and a ioun stone…even Edwin has an upgrade for his powerful necklace !). Note that Artemus Jansen is a cousin of Jan, and he will have an interesting dialogue with him…
- Pale Justice V1A (FR/EN - 1,78 Mo - IWDEE) : a little tweak which permits to change Pale Justice (the sword for paladins) into a bastard sword or a 2-handed sword.
- Anouchka V1a (FR - 2,03 Mo - BGEE) : a merchant who sells 70 powerful and very useful items and weapons, localised in Beregost, currently in the testing phase.

Are you interested ? Send me an email and I will download for you the 3 mods which have been translated in English. It would be a good thing, if you have some time and implication, to take a peek in them and to note if there are errors and imprecisions in my code (I’ve used Near Infinity in order to create all my mods, a very powerful and complete tool indeed), it will help me a lot, thank you by advance. Note too there is a "copyleft" in all my mods, you can take my code without my permission if you want.
Voilà et à bientôt !

It's always cool to see new projects being released. I think many people start with item/merchant mods, and that's actually a cool idea, because trying to write some huge mod while still learning can become somewhat overwhelming. It happened to me when I was working on my first mod, and I got frustrated fast and I had to take like a 6 month break before giving it another try.

As for trying out your mods: aren't they available somewhere? At some website? Or GH? I think I prefer to download them myself, when I have a moment and/or when I'll be thinking about creating a new setup.

I am unsure if you want me to try them out, or if you have some questions in regard to something, or perhaps you want to share them so I could have fun with something new Smile Or if you just want some feedback.

Cheers and thanks!

PS. BG3 is cool, but it's a completely different engine and I don't think I feel like learning everything from scratch Tongue

Dear "Belette", thank you for your quick response. Well, like you at the beginning I’ve not the final wisdom and it wasn’t be easy in the past for me to understand the IE coding (with NearInfinity, the only tool I use), but I’ve persevered and with the help of a few modders (Deratiseur, among others) I’ve been able to create some mods, mainly merchants, they could be interesting if you want to buy powerful (and expensive) items and weapons, here they are.
Many of my mods are available in the French site "La Couronne de Cuivre", but the ones which are present here are obsolete, they are old versions I’ve revised a short time ago. I don’t know at all how to create downloads in GitHub, it seems complicated. So I may to send you by email - if you wish to give me your adress - the 3 mods which have an English version (Kaya/Pym/Pale Justice) which are in my hard drive if you want; what I wish from your part would be a feedback, mainly the mod Kaya (the 2 others are small and I think I could release without changes now), and a peek in this mod in order to detect some bugs and typos here and there for the 20 items available, it will help me a lot. Of course I share my codes with all the modders interested by my mods, you are free to use them at will if you want.
Well, BG3 isn’t your cup of tea, but it’s true that it’s a more recent game, and I hope you’ll be able however in the the future to create great mods for BG4 when it will be released. And giving your exceptional skills in IE coding, create perhaps a very great total conversion for BG2EE, it would be nice !
À bientôt !
NB : you haven’t corrected my alias yet in the coffee shop…

I am unsure if you want to know more about using GH, so I thought it would be in place to post this tutorial CamDawg shared on how to upload and share stuff using GH:

I can take a look at it, but I don't want mods to be sent to my email, it's more like a last resort thing for me and it's already overloaded with messages, mails, files etc. I can take a look when I have some free time, but if you want my opinion, you need to send it differently. There are so many options: GH, DropBox, Google Drive. You just move a zip to your account and generate a link (in Google Drive sometimes you need to set that everyone that has a link may download a file) It's way safer for both sides and does not make overloaded mailboxes and more overloaded. There is also another option: send them in a private conversation you once started at Beamdog Forums with me -- where you already sent Pym (v1.1) Smile You can drag and drop files there.

I never said BG3 isn't for me. I said it's cool, but to mod a new game, one needs to learn a new programming language, new tools, etc and not every game engine is easy. I spent ~20-18 years modding this game, I don't want to spend 10 more years learning and mastering modding new game engines Tongue

Buy Me a Coffee does not give authors any options to edit comments or nicknames of those who decide to buy someone a coffee. I can only pin and hide comments made by others. There is nothing I can do about that.

Dear Belette, well, I’ve just sent you my 3 mods @ Beamdog, I don’t remember at all that I’ve sent you one of my mod here in the past ! I hope you will be pleased, take your time and thank you by advance. About GitHub, thank you for the link @ G3, I will take a look in a near future. And about the "coffee", well all is said…
I hope you will continue to create more and more mods for the IE games, your creativity here is unmatched…
PS : I’ve noticed that your alias is the Weekly character in the Blacksad graphic novels, are you a fan of them ? I have to precise that the Spanish illustrator JuanJo Guarnido works now in France, and are his creations/collaborations available in Polish ?

Yep, I replied to you there a moment ago. Again, I apologize, but once a "coffee buyer" purchases a coffee and leaves a message, I am unable to take any further action. I presume it's to prevent abusive or unkind abuse of power -- probably the site owners do not want people to change nicknames/comments of the buyers when some conflict arises, or something like that.

Yes, Blacksad is available in different languages, including my mother tongue. I do like Weekly, too, thus the avatar, but I liked weasels even before I found out about Blacksad and Weekly.

Once I have some feedback, I will get back to you in the private thread where you sent me the files. I always prefer to give feedback in private conversations. Oh, and it may take me a moment, hope you understand.

Cheers, have a nice week!
