LavaSkie: The Cost - a massive update is now released!
#1
I am happy to say that I have released a massive update of Skie: The Cost of One Girl's Soul!

I was always somewhat unhappy with the scope of the main quest -- the finale of the Soultaker quest and the rescue of our dear friend, Skie Silvershield. Now, the quest includes new areas, new encounters, new interjections, and new options, and it has this feeling that we are truly doing something important! The quest itself is now longer and a bit more difficult.

The update also comes with some minor fixes and a couple of short scenery talks for Skie herself. English and Chinese language options were already updated; the third translation is still to be updated, but the translators were already informed: when it's ready, the mod shall be updated again.

Special thanks to those who helped me with the update: FallDamage312, the author of two amazing areas; Yoshimo0417, who updated the Simplified Chinese translation; MephistoSatanDevil, who helped to coordinate the Chinese translation; CamDawg, who is always ready to answer my never-ending questions; and Skusha, who is currently helping with the update of the last translation that needs to be adjusted (provided by Ulpian, fufel007, Kirian).

Enjoy, everyone!

Thank you for this update and the hard work you put into it.
Can we update the mod mid game?
Actually. I don't know if it's possible and how to do it because it's pretty much high in my installation order.
I am playing EET and I am still in Beregost and Nashkel in BG1.

Hi! Nope, it's not safe, because when you reinstall stuff, everything between that mod and the last mod you've installed would also be reinstalled, and there is a huge chance everything's gonna scramble. And while I am not an expert when it comes to EET, I think it's an even greater no-no with Trilogy.

But thank you for your kind words.

Would a new EET install WITH the updated mod work? With loading the save. I mean. I haven't touched bg2 yet. Should work, shouldn't it?

The save will most likely not work, as in the Infinity Engine some stuff is stored in savegames (like character names, areas you already visited, worldmap, soundset lines...) and some are not (like items, item descriptions, etc.) It doesn't matter that you haven't reached BG2 portion of the Trilogy; there is already a lot of modded data stored in your savegames. You will probably encounter a lot of bugs, like wrong names, worldmap problems, messed up biographies etc. And there is a chance of much worse problems than those I mentioned.

Thanks for explanation. I won't update it then.
Keep up the good work.
