RE: Tangled Oak Isle and the old BG2 - Lava - 01-01-2022

I believe it's better. It works better on my PC. No loading screens, new triggers and actions and opcodes that open new doors for modders and implementing stuff that were impossible to implement on the classic BG2. Probably some of the new things could be achived by some workaround, but they are rarely perfect. I also get less crashes like those you got, which can be a real pain the in the pack. So... I can't imagine going back to classic BG2 and I'm using only EE these days.

As for the screen being darker: I never noticed that. But there are also mods for that. I think that may be the what you could like:

As for the GUI: there are other options, too Smile There's a whole UI modding section on BD forums Smile

Not sure if that helps, but that's my opinion Smile

Good to know, thanks. I think I'll try BG2EE once again, for my next play through. Did you see this nice GUI mod for the classic BG2:

I know it looks impressive, but what I mostly dislike in original BG2 GUI is that there is no transparency and everything covers so much screen.

I definitelly preffer Dragonspear UI++
